Withdrawal & Return Policy

Effective Date: 8th of June, 2025

At Pfeil Art Gallery, we strive to ensure customer satisfaction with every artwork purchased. Below is our policy regarding withdrawals, returns, and refunds:

1. Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

2. Withdrawal Period

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods.

3. How to withdraw

To exercise the right to withdraw, you must inform us via email at [email protected] of your decision to withdraw this contract by a clear statement. Include:

• Your full name
• Order number
• Item purchased
• Statement indicating you wish to withdraw. You may use the attached sample withdrawal form at the bottom of this page, but it is not obligatory.

4. The Withdrawal Deadline

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to withdraw before the withdrawal period has expired. Please ensure all necessary information (point 3) is stated in your withdrawal communication. Providing incomplete/unclear information might result in delays and therefore expiration of the withdrawal period.

5. Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw this contract, we will refund all payments that we received from you, including delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs, that result from your choice of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery option we offer). You will not be charged any fees for this refund in any case. Returned items are subject to inspection before issuing the refund. 

6. Inspection & Refunds

Once the returned item has been received and inspected:
• Refunds will be processed via the original payment method (e.g., PayPal)
• Refunds will be issued within 14 days of receiving the return

We reserve the right to reduce the refund if the item is not returned in its original condition. (Also see point 9)

7. Return Shipping

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
 
• Artworks must be returned in their original condition and securely packaged. Any diminished value of goods during return shipping will have impact on the refund (see point 9). Therefore, it is advised to document the state the artwork is in, before packing and after packing. 
• Return shipment must be sent within 14 days of notifying us. It is advised to ship with tracking methods as refunds will not be processed unless the goods are received and inspected by us.
• Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, unless the item was damaged or incorrect upon receiving. 

8. Costs of Return Shipping

You will have to bear the direct cost of securely packing and returning the goods.

9. Value Replacement for the Delivery of Goods

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. We reserve the right to reduce the refund if the item is not returned in its original condition.

10. Exceptions 

Due to the nature of original artwork:

• Custom commissions or personalized works are generally non-refundable.
• Returns from outside the EU may be subject to different conditions or customs duties.
